All needed to be organized into a smooth production run under tight schedule constraints.

But the end result was worth it. The blade appears to be ground steel, yet it glows a ghostly blue when activated. Striking the blade emits one of 4 different sound effects. The handle has a beautiful faux-wood finish, wrapped in a silver elvish vine. And a twist of the pommel reveals the hidden battery door.

Sound Effect Programming: Creativity, Inc.
Licensor: New Line Pictures Ltd.",

How do we give the activation switch a satisfying over-center toggle? How do we provide battery access with no tools or visible features on the prop?

The final design satisfied all of the project requirements and nailed the authenticity.
